SHARING A FEW THOUGHTS (THE BUILDING BLOCKS FOR A NEW “WORK : Following on from the books ‘STIRLING’ , ‘THE PRIZE’ and THE DRIVER, THE NURSE AND THE WRITER

SEE A NEW “WORK” (or “WORKS”)TAKE SHAPE AND FORM

“Here was a light behind the despair, beyond the darkness. At first a flicker of an ember, just a tiny pin-prick of dawning possibilities. Then burning slowly, brightly and bigger, a glimmer, a candle in the blackness of despair, which gave off just enough of a glow (luminescence?) to light a path. And so show the rest of us the way ahead… a path to endless possibilities…from the darkness into the eternal light.”

as adapted (slightly) from Rian Malan’s powerful words in ‘My Traitor’s Heart’ and

These are some notes that I’ve made recently (from my “red book”), which is forming the basis, the frame-work, the building-blocks for a new manuscript I’m writing. So will share with you and post extracts (hopefully regularly) on my WordPress blog (www.craiglock.wordpress.com and www.craigsblogs.wordpress.com) as I write it. Hopefully I’ll continue getting my “daily dose of upliftment and inspiration“.

The following themes principles will form the basis for the story (TRUE!)…

“We learn far more from our tears than from our laughter.”

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that really matter.” – Dr Martin Luther King, Jnr

“If I must choose between righteousness and peace, I choose righteousness.” – Franklin Roosevelt

A peace (lasting) based upon justice and reconciliation.

“We can all be great; because we can all serve.” – Mother Teresa

“Keep true to the dreams of your youth.” – Friedrich Schiller, German writer and philosopher

“Try not to become a man (person) of success, but one of value.” – Albert Einstein

“Those who stand up for justice will always be on the right side of history.” Dr Martin Luther King, Jnr

“Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” – Mahatma Gandhi (and Lance Armstrong –oops!)

“We are committed to the positive values found in sport: Performance and passion, team-work and fair-play.”

The strength of spirit in the human heart. The love of God made manifest.

God’s greatest gift to us is to find our own truths.

Everyone has the capacity, the potential to manifest God’s ultimate nature.

Thoughts on My Writing

I write about the ‘essence of humanity’. I want to impel some kind of action in readers, like breaking down barriers in some small way. Religion divides; but truth unites (unity in truth). The way we live is more important than what we believe. We are all connected by the common bond of our shared humanity.

I try to show the extra-ordinary in ‘ordinary’ (what’s that?) lives, as revealed by the generous spirits and the exceptional strength and courage of so many ordinary people in their daily struggles along the sometimes very hard; yet of so satisfying journey that is called life. “I was like floating on a cloud of infinite possibilities.” (that’s a simile, btw!)

MY NEW BOOK

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that really matter.” – Dr Martin Luther King, Jnr

Dedication:

To…

“I love you in the very special way that I’ve written about in these pages.”

“To all of us who believe love rules, stand up and let it shine.”

A TRUE story of renewal and transformation: a transformation of heart. Eternal truths. Hope for a new beginning – one not divided by the past but with hope for the future. In a phrase, A NEW HEART.

‘Khatib’ is the Arab word (name) for writer

Themes of:

* build bridges of reconciliation (“threads of hope”) Truth overcomes power

* forgiveness: Forgiveness for the past, strength for today and hope for the future.

“Forgiveness is not an occasional act – it is an attitude of mind.”
– Dr Martin Luther King

* the strength of spirit in the human heart

“The task ahead of you can always be overcome by the power within you…and the often seemingly difficult or even “impassible”) path ahead of you is never as steep with the great spirit that lies within you.”

“We have it within; but we get it all from without. There is a well-spring of strength, wisdom, courage and great imagination within each one of us; but once we draw on this truth, it gets watered from without, by a Higher Source – the Ultimate Source of Life and Love, which is God, the very Ground of our Being.”

“Our Greatest Good is perhaps not to share our material possessions, our money and ‘riches’ with others, but through faith in other people, to so lay the foundation to reveal the rich treasure that lies within themselves.” – craig

* the redemptive power of love

* Hope is irresistable. Plant seeds of hope: From seeds of hope to endless possibilities, far and grand horizons.”

“Together, one mind, one soul at a time, let’s see how many hearts can be transformed from hatred into love… with God’s help (as only God can do that, but each one of us can be a channel for God’s love).

*

Let your spirit shine through these words. Embrace the Light (Infinite ) and shine Your bright light (of understanding) on humanity

“Many small (yet significant) steps by many ‘little people with big hearts’ * will eventually reach their destination, their destiny.

“In the midst of darkness, light exists.” – Mahatma Gandhi

However, it is a darkness that we will illuminate with our hearts. *

“Let us reach for the world that ought to be, that spark of the divine that still stirs within each of our goals.”

– Barack Obama (in accepting his Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway)

“Together, one mind, one soul at a time, let’s see how many people we can impact, empower, encourage and perhaps even inspire to reach their fullest potentials. Change YOUR

without being too much of a “Mr goody-goody boring” two shoes”(as he’s lost the other one). Craig loves writing; but then what other job would be suitable for him!

    Hi

CAN’T KEEP UP…BUT THANKS FOR THE “THANX”

I’ve had many many hundreds of thousands (even “zillions”) of comments on my various other WordPress blogs at https://craigsblogs.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/craigs-list-of-blogs-updated-sept-2011/
in recent years …true!). A few of my blogs went “balistically viral” a few years back and I got swamped with comments on my various blogs… so had to close them all off.

Obsessive or WHAT! Am really pleased you are enjoying my writings, as the reason I write is to share.

Though I’m rather “driven”, I still get really, really fatigued (there’s a few books there). So sorry can’t reply individually to all you good people scattered around the planet. As mentioned (stop repeating yourself, c – bad writing…otherwise the first signs of approaching senility!), I was unable to keep up with the comments and was spending entire days just on replies on my various blog pages, so had to close them off on all of my blogs, except for one or two of particular interest to me.

Sorry and hope you can understand.

I do really appreciate your liking, linking to and/or following this blog (and “writing in”), so “thanks for the thanx”

“As we live and move and have our being, so from this vision, we create heaven in our own lives… and perhaps even heaven on earth.”

“Aim at the stars and you may reach the moon.”
“Aim at heaven and you’ll have earth thrown in…
and you may even hit the stars.”

“When (or if ever) you arrive in heaven, let faith, hope and love be the wings that carried you there.”

“The Greatest Race: Living by (with) faith, hope and love is the highest podium any person can reach, God’s podium that anyone stand on.”
    – c

“Having pursued the goals, the dreams set before us and run the race with persistence and endurance, after giving it all. Then one day standing on the summit of life, breathing in the pure sweet oxygen of achievement, totally satisfied in running the greatest race, the race of life one that ANYONE can run and win.”

“If a man is called to be a street-sweeper,
he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted,
    or Beethoven composed music, or
    Shakespeare wrote poetry.
He should sweep streets so well
that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say,
here lived a great street sweeper
    who did his job well.”
